Nelson County 5/31/10

Tim H. and I got together to try some night photography. He knew where some Screech Owls were nesting - both the gray and the red morph varieties. After Tim's calling them for about 45 minutes, they finally made their appearance, and we both got some good shots.

We used a 25 million candlepower spotlight to illuminate the owls so our cameras could autofocus, and then took flash photos with the spotlight still on them. They turned out fairly well.
