The early morning sunshine had turned into heavy, low clouds by the time I arrived at the trail at 8:40. The wet grass soon saturated my "not-so-waterproof" waterproof boots, but as I sloshed around, I was still able to spot 35 species. I ran into a couple of birders from Lynchburg, VA (about 45 miles away). They had been here yesterday for the guided walk, and came back to look for the Black-billed Cuckoo seen yesterday, confirming one of my unidentifed birds from Friday morning. As I was talking to them, a White-eyed Vireo landed only a few feet away to say hello. Here's this morning's list:
