Rockfish Valley Trail 10/20/14

It was 37 degrees and sunny when I arrived at the trail at 9:00 this morning. There was a lot of avian activity in the tall grasses that were not in shadow. Most of the birds were sparrows, especially Song Sparrows. By 10:30, the trail was fairly quiet, and I ended up with 26 species. Highlight was a distant Merlin.
