I started off hiking in Old Trail, but after seeing only seven avian species, I decided to head over to Lickinghole Creek and reservior. Birding was much better there - I ended up with 25 species, and there were lots of smaller birds where the trail turns north toward the reservoir.
Best bird of the hike was a Bald Eagle that put on a good show, but the only times it was close to me, it was almost directly in front of the sun.
