Andy and I had seen male and female Painted Buntings at a feeder across a canal from Sugden Park, but we weren't able to get good close-up photos of them. Later that same day, we stopped at Eagle Lakes to see what might be there. We were surprised and quite pleased when a male Painted Bunting landed in a bush a few feet from the path, and stay there for several minutes while we took lots of photos of it.
