Rockfish Valley Trail 1/29/15

Even though it was bright and sunny this morning, brisk winds made the near-freezing temperatures feel downright cold.

American Robins are uncommon on the trail, but there were 100+ of this species feeding on the tree berries this morning. I ended up with only 15 avian spieces, and the highlight of the morning for me were six sparrow species: Fox, Field, Song, Savannah, White-throated, and Eastern Towhee.
