It was still hot here in central Virginia, so I headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There was a little bit of fog when I arrived, but not enough to impede my birding. However, there were very few birds to be found. I didn't see a single warbler. Best birds were a quick look at a Yellow-billed Cuckoo at Hickory Springs Overlook (mm. 12), and my first-of-season, and a bit early, White-throated Sparrow at 3 Ridges Overlook (mm. 14). Rather than return along the parkway, I headed down Route 664 at Reids Gap and did some birding on the Rockfish Valley Trail. All I saw there were a few Bluebirds and a flock of Starlings.

In the evening, the International Space Station made a pass over Crozet, so Alice and I went out to take a look, and I thought I would try taking a few photos. I did a few lunar shots and then saw the ISS. The photo isn't great, but some of the structure shape is clearly visible.

Today is a weather transition day, as a dry cool front is finally moving through the area. I hoped that it would bring some migrating birds along with it, and I went back up to the parkway. I saw a pair of Bay-breasted Warblers on Route 610.

I stopped at the lower end of the cirque at mm. 7.5 when I heard some avian activity. I saw at least three warbler species, but they weren't very cooperative, or stayed far from the parkway.

I drove down to Reids Gap (mm. 14) and heard a few birds along the way, but didn't see them, and the wind started to pick up. On my return trip along Route 610, I encountered a flock of at least 8 Wild Turkeys.
