It was chilly, but sunny this morning, and I hiked here in Old Trail. All of the new home and apartment construction is really taking a toll on the wildlife habitat, and the loud construction noise made hearing birds that much more difficult. But I did end up with 24 avian species, including a new Old Trail species for me. Most of the birds were the usual ones here, and I got a few good photos of one of our resident Red-shoudered Hawks. I have seen Eastern Phoebes in nearby areas, but the one this morning in Old Trail was my first one of the year here, so spring must be right around the corner.

Near the end of my hike, I looked up to watch a few Turkey Vultures, and saw that two of them had flat wings. It was a pair of Bald Eagles (my Old Trail species # 133). One was an adult, and the other was a Basic III sub-adult. Both eagles kept looking around to keep an eye on where the other one was.
