It was rather chilly, but bright and sunny this morning. I hiked here in Old Trail, ended up with 25 avian species, and may have heard a Willow Flycatcher, but I'm not sure so it's not on my list for the day.

Black and Turkey Vultures were feeding on a dead squirrel, and three deer were resting in the brush.

There was a lone Bufflehead in the pond along Old Trail Drive, and eight Wood Ducks at the golf course pond - seven males and one female.

The highlight of the hike for me was a male Belted Kingfisher at the golf course pond. I often seen one there, but it is easily spooked and flies to the other side of the pond if anyone gets close to it. This morning, it flew from across the pond, right at me, and at the last moment saw me and changed its flight plan.
