It should have been a very good morning for warblers up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but when I got up there, the entire first 14 miles was shrouded in dense fog. I heard a lot of birds, but could not see most of them.

The fog condensed on spider webs giving them an eerie appearance.

I decided to try Ridgeview Park in nearby Waynesboro. It wasn't very birdy there, but at least there wasn't any fog. Woodland birds I saw there were Northern Cardinal, Gray Catbird, American Robin, Carolina Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch, and Mallards in the river. I did see two warbler species: American Redstart and Magnolia, and a small flock of Cedar Waxwings. One of the waxwings had an orange tail tip. A Bald Eagle flew overhead as I was leaving.
