It was a beautiful morning to be out birding. I started out in Western Park, and saw juvenile Red-shouldered and Cooper's Hawks, as well as the resident adult female Red-shouldered Hawk, The juvenile Cooper's Hawk was the same one that I saw last January 13 with a right eye problem in its iris.

The female Common Merganser, here since at least last December 2, was still in the golf course pond, but was sleeping most of the time.

I ended up with 25 avian species. The Fish Crows have returned to their favorite perch. There were lots of Song and Field Sparrows. Check out the bill differences on the following two Song Sparrows.
