I needed to get out of the summer heat and humidity, so I headed up to the parkway and Route 610 between mm. 2 and mm. 4. It was humid up there as well, but the temperature ranged between 78 and 82 while I was there. The parkway was really crowded with holiday weekend tourists, so I did most of my birding on Route 610, and only made it as far as mm. 8 on the parkway before turning around. Most of the birds were tough to see in the foliage, but I managed to log 24 avian species, including 6 warbler species. I got photos of 5 of them, and heard/saw a Pine Warbler, but not long enough for a photo. I had Cerulean, Hooded, American Redstarts, and Ovenbirds at a few locations, and only a quick view of a Black and White Warbler.
