Route 610, VA 9/5/2020

All photos are © Marshall Faintich

I headed up to Route 610 this morning, and stayed off of the Blue Ridge Parkway knowing that there would be a ton of holiday weekend traffic on the parkway. I ended up with about 30 avian species, including 7 warbler species. While I heard two Hooded Warblers this morning, I didn't see either one, but I did get some Hooded Warbler photos on Route 610 yesterday morning, and include them here. All of the rest of the photos were taken today.

There were quite a few woodland species, and I found a juvenile and an adult Yellow-billed Cuckoos foraging together.
