Route 610, VA 9/30/2020

Thunderstorms moved through the area last evening and overnight, bringing cooler temperatures, and a brisk wind this morning. The BirdCast radar showed good bird migration overnight from the northwest into central Virginia. I hadn't been up on Route 610 and the Blue Ridge Parkway for a week, and was eager to see what might be there. With temperatures ranging between 48 and 52, the brisk wind made it quite chilly, and many birds must have been hunkered down. My first stop was at the old tower where I saw 10 avian species, but only 1 warbler.
