I wanted to try to re-locate the unidentified warbler at the old tower on Route 610, so I started off birding there. Although Route 610 wasn't very "birdy" between mm. 2 and mm. 4 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, I did log 20 avian species there, but only quick looks at 3 warbler species.

I then headed up to the cirque (mm. 7.5) on the Blue Ridge Parkway where I saw 3 Tennessee Warblers, but it was fairly windy so I turned around and headed back.

I decided to try my luck in the wooded area at nearby Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro. After logging 7 more avian species, and no warblers, I hiked over the bird sanctuary that I found the other day. There were mostly Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, Blue Jays, and Carolina Chickadees, but I did see a female Common Yellowthroat, giving me 29 species for the morning, including 5 warbler species.

On my way back to my car, I added 3 more avian species, giving me 32 avian species for the day. Not bad, but not great. I usually park on a side road a few feet away from one of the entrances to the wooded area of the park. I was about 10 feet from my car when I heard Nuthatches, Chickadees, and Titmice. I had already seen these species this morning, but it was worth turning around to look. There were birds everywhere!

I ended the outing with 41 avian species, including 8 warbler species. That was a pretty good morning!
