Old Trail

I finally had the time and good weather to do a decent hike here in Old Trail this morning, and ended up with 30 avian species.

This will be my last blog posting for a couple of weeks. On Monday afternoon, my right foot was hurting like I had tendonitis in it, so I did a shorter hike on Tuesday. It was better this morning, so I hiked 3.5 miles. When I was hiking uphill on a path, and only about 10 feet from my car and ready to head for home, something happened, and I ended up falling part way down the hill. I cut up my left arm and leg, and bruised my left hip and left collar bone. I already had an appointment with the foot doctor for this morning (3/11) about my foot pain. Sure enough, it is tendonitis. I got a cortisone shot, need to wear a foot brace for 4 to 8 weeks, and need to stay off of it for a week or two. Bummers! At least it's not spring migration for another 5 to 6 weeks.
