Old Trail

It was really hot and humid this morning. Shortly after heading out, I stopped when I saw three American Crows that looked a bit unusual. Their sizes and some red coloring looked unusual.

One of the crows that was perched together looked huge compared with the other crow.

The red coloring at their throats must have been sunlight shining through their mouths and throats.

And the larger one seemed to begging for food.

I can't imagine that the larger crow being a juvenile. I wonder if the larger crow was a female, and its smaller mate was feeding it?

I continued birding, but it was really quiet as most of the birds must have been hunkered down in the shade. When I got home at 11:00 a.m., it was already 92 degrees.
