We had sub-freezing temperatures overnight, and there was plenty of frost on the ground when I started out this morning. Western Park was a bit quieter than usual, and then I saw why. There was a juvenile Cooper's Hawk perched in a tree, and then a Red-shouldered Hawk showed up. I logged my first woodpecker species of the morning - Northern Flicker, but it was too far away for a good photo.

I then headed over to the golf course pond area, and found an adult Cooper's Hawk near fairway #1.

Then I hiked along Slabtown Branch Creek and along the southeastern boundary of Old Trail. I saw another Red-shouldered Hawk and four more woodpecker species. A Red-tailed Hawk flew overhead.
