Old Trail

Birding has been tough here after the snowstorm we had on January 2-3. There's still some piles of icy snow about, and many branches came down. Fields of tall, dead grasses were flattened, and foraging areas reduced. There just doesn't seem to be as many birds around, and I think that some of the local birds may have perished. And we're expecting another 5 to 10 inches of snow on this coming Sunday :-(

But I had 17 avian species on January 12, and 27 avian species today, giving me 34 avian species for these two days.
