Old Trail

With temperatures in the 50s and gusty winds, it was more like March than early May. I did a short afternoon hike yesterday, and a longer hike this morning, and ended up with 29 avian species for the two hikes, including my first of season Gray Catbird.

A male and a female Eastern Towhee were calling each other (nasal call). I thought I heard a third Towhee, and when I turned around, a House Sparrow was mimicking the Towhee call.
