Rockfish Valley Trail and Stoney Creek (Wintergreen) 3/18/10

I arrived at the RV Trail at 9:30 this morning. The early daylight savings time is great for birding. Although not a lot of new arrivals, there was quite a bit of activity that died down by 10:30. Saw 22 species:

Song, Field, White-throated, and Chippings Sparrows, Cardinal, Bluebird, American Goldfinch, Dark-eyed Junco, Crow, Turkey Vulture, Starling, Red-bellied WP, Eastern Meadowlark, Carolina Wren, Carolina Chickadee, Red-winged Blackbird, Tree Swallow, Blue Jay, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Mourning Dove, Robin, WB Nuthatch.

On the way home I stopped at Lake Monocan in Stoney Creek and got a few good shots of a Kingfisher.
