Rockfish Valley Trail 6/6/10

Although I got a late start this morning on the Rockfish Valley Trail (10 a.m.), and it was hot, overcast, and rather windy, I wanted to see what might be there as there have been reports of Dicksissels in adjacent counties. I did not see any Dicksissels, but can report the following 16 species:

Song Sparrow
Bluebird
Kingfisher
Indigo Bunting
Starling
Grackle
American Crow
Turkey Vulture
Black Vulture
Orchard Oriole
Red-winged Blackbird
American Goldfinch
Eastern Meadowlark
Eastern Phoebe
Eastern Kingbird
Mourning Dove

The Song Sparrows must be juveniles, as their breast streaking is very fine, and the bills look to long and slender. Some of the juvenile sparrows are difficult to ID, so if anyone thinks they are a different sparrow species, please let me know.
