Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch 9/11/11

I spent almost five hours at the Hawk Watch today, and was treated to a good display, but none of the raptors came really close to us. There were other birds as well - Chimney Swifts, Rock Pigeons, several Red-headed Woodpeckers, a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, some Goldfinches, and a couple of Common Ravens.

I saw a Northern Harrier, Cooper's Hawk, as few Broad-winged Hawks, and several Red-tailed Hawks. At least three or four Ospreys came by while I was there.

The highlight of the day for me were three Bald Eagles flying together - one adult and two juveniles/sub-adults.
