What a great morning for this year's Great Backyard Bird Count. Although it started out under mostly cloudy skies, it soon became mostly sunny, with a light breeze, and temperatures in the upper 40s. There was a lot of avian activity on the trail, and I ended up with 28 species seen between 9:25 and 10:55 a.m. Althought none of the species were unusual, I was treated to seeing a male Belted Kingfisher chasing another male out of its territory.
