Although the temperature was in the 60s, wave after wave of heavy, darks clouds have been passing through the area all day ahead of an approaching cold front. Looked like it could storm at any minute. I decided to go over to the trail mid-afternoon to see what might be out, or if all the birds had hunkered down.
After a little less than one hour, it started to drizzle, so I headed back to my car after logging 23 species on the trail. Highlights included a Fox Sparrow that I have been seeing in the bog area, and at least two Palm Warblers that should have already left for their winter homes.
