I decided to stay close to home this morning and did a 2+ mile hike here in Stoney Creek. When I left my house around 9:00 the temperature was 68, but climbed to 82 by the time I returned home a little more than an hour later. I did end up with 20 avian species.

Gray Catbird

Downy Woodpecker

Hairy Woodpecker

Eastern Phoebe with fluffed feathers

Eastern Painted Turtles

The highlight of the hike was watching a Broad-winged Hawk being harassed by a much smaller Eastern Kingbird that returned to its perch after driving the hawk away.
