Stoney Creek 3/26/14

A good deal of the snow had melted by mid-afternoon, so I took my second hike of the day here in Stoney Creek. A few birds were out, but the highlight of the hike was a skunk that was more interested in rooting in the grasses for some food than watching me take some photos of it. But I still kept my distance from it!

Rockfish Valley Trail 3/27/14

I went for a mid-afternoon hike on the trail and saw about a dozen avian species. There were a lot of sparrows out - mostly Song Sparrows. The highlights of the hike were a Great Blue Heron and a Red-shouldered Hawk.
