It was another hot and humid morning here in Virginia. I hiked on the Rockfish Valley Trail for about 1-1/2 hours, and saw 22 species. The best bird was an immature Blue Grosbeak. I couldn't get a profile view to check for chesnut-colored wing bars, but its bill looked too big for an Indigo Bunting. This is a good find - Blue Grosbeaks have nested on the trail every summer for the past few years, but I haven't seen one there for a while.
