It wasn't supposed to rain until late afternoon, but once again, the local weather forecasters got it wrong. It was cloudy all day, with intermittent drizzle/light rain, and I spent a lot of my time this morning under tree cover waiting for the rain to stop. And it was dark, so all my photos were taken with high ISO and are a bit grainy.
But there were reports of large, mixed flocks of warblers yesterday about 50 miles north of here, so I wanted to see what birds might have made a stop here in the Rockfish Valley. Most of the birds were deep in heavy leaf cover when it was drizzling, and scattered when the rain stopped.

The weather did not change when I did a late morning hike closer to home, but I did manage to see three warbler species and a Swainson's Thrush.
