Eagle Lakes, Naples, Florida

I have taken a fair number of photos of Perigrine Falcons prior to this trip, but they have always been photos of this speedster in flight, and usualy quite some distance away from me. It was a completely overcast morning when I arrived at Eagle Lakes, and I headed for the gazebo at the start of the trails around the ponds. I looked to the north and saw a Peregrine Falcon perched on the limb of a tree, and I walked slowly toward it, stopping to take photos every few feet. I was amazed that even though the falcon saw me approaching, it stayed put, and let me get fairly close. I then walked around to the other side of the tree, and took more photos. After about 15 minutes, this spectacular bird took off.
