February 20

I did a late afternoon hike from my house. It was sunny and bright, but also icy and cold. I added five neighborhood species to the 16 I had seen at my feeder the previous two days: Canada Goose, Mallard, American Robin, Northern Flicker, and Turkey Vulture.

The forecast the other day was for 6 to 11 inches of snow, and we got 5. The forecast for today was 3 to 5, and we already have 5 to 6, and it's coming down heavy right now. I decided to do some more photography from my window, and tried to capture as many species as possible at my feeder at the same time - the most I got was 5.

Snow!

The birds are really hungry, and sometimes got a bit testy keeping or getting a spot at the feeder.
