March 3

It was cold, but not quite as windy today, and there was a chance of some rain, so I decided to stay closer to Williamsburg. I spent most of the day at Newport News Park. I had been there several times in previous years, and it is a great place to go birding unless it is a holiday or weekend when there are lots of non-birders on the trails. I saw quite a few woodland species and some water birds.

Once again, another Bald Eagle let me get very close to it.

I then drove over to the York River State Park. I had never been there before, and perhaps it might be a good birding site during some months, but there were very few birds there this day.
