Old Trail, Crozet, VA 10/9-10/16

Autumn has finally arrived. We have had nighttime temperatures in the 40s and daytime in the 60s. The front that moved through the area brought sunny skies, and a bit of wind. I hiked here in Old Trail for the past two days, and ended up with 30+ avian species. My FOS Yellow-rumped Warblers have shown up in good numbers for the winter months, and a few of the migrating warbler species can still be found. I saw Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned (FOS) Kinglets today, and the Golden-crowned was my 99th Old Trail avian species.
