Central Virginia 9/5/17

I had hoped that this would be a good day to see migrating warblers, but the Blue Ridge and surrounding areas have been lacking compared to the Alleghenies and the western part of the Shenandoah Valley. I started off on the first 12 miles of the Blue ridge Parkway, but only saw a few woodland species.

I then did some birding in Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, with similar results.

It was getting really hot, so I did a little more birding back in Old Trail here in Crozet, but not a single warbler all day. A bird dove into dense vegetation, and all I could see of it was its tail feathers that looked like a Yellow-billed Cuckoo.
