Old Trail; Crozet, VA 3/15/18

It was bright and sunny today, but as the sun rose higher in the sky, the winds picked up quite a bit, so I decided to hike close to home. That worked out well for me. Last night, I attended a home owners association meeting, and learned about a trail at the north end of Old Trail that I was unaware of, and a newly opened trail that was near an older trail that has been closed because of new home construction. I also wanted to try out a new camera grip attachment and a new camera setting, so it all came together nicely. Turns out that the both new trails (for me) might be really good for birding, especially during warbler migration, and they are rugged enough to ward off joggers, bikers, and casual walkers. I also hiked a bit in the wetlands area, and saw a fair number of birds.
