Old Trail

It rained during the night, and there was a bit of rain this morning. I went out on a short hike here in Old Trail during the early afternoon. At first, I saw a few good birds, and then it was a lot of hiking with little success.

For my last part of the hike, I had parked on Golf Drive near the golf course pond, and was on my way back to my car when I saw an Osprey flying from the pond.

And then I saw a Great Egret at the far corner of the pond. This is my Old Trail species # 126, and as far as I can tell, a new species for Old Trail (# 181).

As I turned the corner of the pond to get better photos of the Egret, I saw my FOS Eastern Kingbird, and my FOS Orchard Oriole. The very bright orangish-red House Finch that I have been seeing near the pond was there as well, and I ended my short hike with 29 avian species.
