As I did a few days ago, I started off at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, with plans to head to the Blue Ridge Parkway later in the morning. Ridgeview Park was more "birdy" than it was a few days ago, and I logged 23 avian species there. I also got a decent photo, finally, of the fox that I have been seeing on the trail there.

Most of the birds I saw at the park were along the river, and I saw two warbler species in the park: Magnolia and Yellow-rumped.

I birded along the first 12 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway, with a side trip on a couple of miles on parallel Route 610. I added 4 more warbler species: Ovenbird, Hooded, American Redstart, and Cerulean, and saw another Yellow-rumped. The trillium was in bloom and chipmunks seemed to be everywhere.

There were birds all along the parkway, but my favorite stop at the north end of the parkway, Hickory Springs Overlook (mm 12), ws the "birdiest." My FOS Scarlet Tanager was right where I parked, and a female Hooded Warbler was walking around in the same area.
