There was light drizzle this morning, but it stopped around 11:00, so I did a late morning hike here in Old Trail under cloudy skies. It was also warm and muggy with absolutely no breeze, and my glasses kept fogging, making birding a challenge. I hiked the Lindy Bain loop that took me close to 3 miles in a little less than 2 hours. I didn't expect to see much starting out so late, but was happy to end up with 24 avian species. It seems like some of the young birds are still here with their mamas, while the papas have already migrated south.

Both of our resident Red-shouldered Hawks landed in the same tree.

I got a blurry photo of an adult Least Flycatcher (white wing-bars), and then a first year bird (buffy wing-bars) popped up and posed for me.

A few minutes later, I saw a young Gray Catbird hanging out with a young?/female Blue Grosbeak.

I continued the hike, seeing more species, and near the end of my hike, there were a few smaller birds flitting about like warblers. I was able to see one of them for a short look - Magnolia Warbler.

I was almost back to my house when it started to drizzle again.
