Old Trail; Crozet, VA 10/11/18

I had a little time this morning to hike after overnight rain, and before the main thrust of the remnants of Hurricane Michael moved into the area. I hiked two short sections of the loop trail here in Old Trail, and ended up with 16 avian species in about one hour. The Blue Jays were pretending to be squirrels as they were busy gathering acorns.

I re-located the Common Yellowthroat close to where I saw it two days ago.

Tomorrow could be a great birding day, as the hurricane remnants move out of the area overnight, and the counter-clockwise winds might drive birds from coastal areas to here. Will have to see.
