Old Trail; Crozet, VA; 2/21/19

Yesterday, we had three inches of snow, followed by a tenth of an inch of ice, and then sleet and freezing rain. Today, the sun came out and the temperature rose into the mid-60s. Many of the birds were hungry and out looking for food. I hiked here in Old Trail, and in less than two hours, had logged 20 avian species. I saw our resident Red-shouldered Hawks in three different locations in Old Trail.
