It was hot and muggy this morning, and I went for a short morning hike here in Western Park in Old Trail. Western Park is Albemarle County property, but is completely surrounded by the Old Trail subdiviion where I live. I ended up with 25 avian species, including my first Yellow Warbler of 2019 (my #23 Virginia warbler species this year), as well as male and female Common Yellowthroats. Both warbler species were seen in about the same areas where I have seen them in the past two summers, so they are probably breeding here.
