Alice and I awakened and opened the curtains in our room.

Rachel led a few of us on an early morning nature hike. I heard a bird singing, and knew what it was - Alder Flycatcher.

We went to the small town center for a couple of hours in the morning. Some of the group visited shops and the ranger station. I opted to do some birding along the river, and then where we were to meet the bus.

We boarded the bus, and headed to Anchorage, and then to our destination at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood. We made a brief stop at Potter Marsh in Anchorage. A sub-adult (Basic IV) Bald eage flew by, and there were three shorebirds near the viewing platform at the marsh. One was large and the other two smaller. The larger one was a Greater Yellowlegs. I thought that the two smaller ones were Lesser Yellowlegs, but they may have been juvenile Greater Yellowlegs.
