January 2; Huntington Beach State Park

It was overcast today, and the park was significantly less crowded. I started off at the marsh boardwalk, and soon saw a Black-bellied Plover. A Ring-billed Gull flew in and perched on the railing right next to where I was standing.

I returned to the parking area, and this time hiked over to the beach near there. A pod of dolphins was playing close to shore.

Before leaving for the day, I hiked the short trail from the causeway parking lot to a small overlook. Birds were hanging out on and near a feeder there, and a good sized flock of Cedar Waxwings was in the trees.
