It was blustery this morning. A cold front moved into the area overnight, and the brisk winds made it quite chilly for my hike. Many of the birds were hunkered down, but there was bright sunshine, and I ended up with 26 avian species.

I ended my hike seeing both of our resident Red-shouldered Hawks at the secluded pond between Slabtown Branch Creek and the junior high school. One of them was finishing a meal and then took off. The other one was perched on a nearby branch, and then was cleaning its bill.
