Ridgeview Park

All photos are © Marshall Faintich

Strong southerly winds came through here over the weekend, and I wanted to see if any early migrants might have been blown into the area. I also wanted to see of the Red-shouldered Hawks at Ridgeview Park had built more onto their nest. I ended up with 21 avian species there. I saw one of the hawks flying, but it didn't look like the nest had been worked on. I assume that the crows and jays were successful in their attempt to discourage the hawks. Virginia bluebells, always abundant in that park during the spring, are starting to open. I saw a pair of nuthatches feeding each other, and got a few quick looks at a Winter Wren.
