I got up to the parkway at 9:00, and decided to go directly to the upper, south end of the cirque (mm. 7.5) before the weeked parkway traffic would get bad, and I knew that most of Route 610 would be in shade that early. When I got to the cirque, the birds were just starting to get active, with most of them down the hill where the trees were already in full sunlight. But soon thereafter, they started making their way up to the parkway. I had 6 warblers species there: Tennessee, Ovenbird, Black and White (seen only), Cape May, Chestnut-sided, and Blackpoll.

There were several non-warbler species at that stop as well, including Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Scarlet Tanager, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and Red-tailed Hawk.

I headed back north, and got onto Route 610 at mm. 4 of the parkway. I saw another Cape May Warbler and another Black and White Warbler, and added Northern Parula, Bay-breasted, Pine (heard and saw), Hooded, and Blackburnian, giving me 11 warbler species for this morning.
