I met up with Tink Moyer and we did some birding on the Blue Ridge Parkway between mm. 4 and mm. 8, and on Route 610 between mm. 2 and mm. 4 of the parkway. We checked out both locations twice, and started out at the south end of the cirque (mm. 7.5). We had 10+ avian species there, but only a few warbler species. On our first stop there, we got a few quick looks at a (2?) Blackpoll Warbler(s) and a distant Tennessee Warbler.

On Route 610, we saw a few warblers. I got a very quick look at a Magnolia Warbler, while Tink got a good look at it. At another stop on 610, Tink got a quck look at another Magnolia Warbler, and I got a very quick look at a warbler that was either another Blackpoll or another Tennessee. On our second stop at the cirque, we saw a Yellow-billed Cuckoo that had a very dark mask.

We also saw a Common Yellowthroat there.

I saw another warbler there that might have been the same or another Common Yellowthroat, but it seemed to have a greener back, a less yellow throat, and a different colored bill. I'm not sure what warbler species it was, but am wondering if it moght have been a fall Mourning Warbler?
