Old Trail

I know that autumn has finally arrived when I see Yellow-rumped Warblers (other than a few high up in the Allegeny Mountains). There were three of them near the golf course pond, as well as one Palm Warbler and two Cape May Warblers. I saw two more Cape May Warblers by the community garden, two Common Yellowthroats along Slabtown Branch Creek, and heard/saw a Pine Warbler high up in the trees at the southeast corner of Old Trail.

I ended up with 31 avian species. There was a small flock of Cedar Waxwings, and about half of them had dietary induced orange tail tips instead of yellow. The House Wren I saw was the first one I have seen here in Old Trail for many months.
