Old Trail

It was a beautiful day to be out birding, but I really had to work hard to get 25 avian species here in 2-1/2 hours. I had four strikes against me:

1. I got a late start and wasn't able to get out until 10:00 a.m.

2. Now that we are in Standard Time, the sun is higher and birds less active when I get out.

3. Being a Saturday, the trails here were loaded with people, including "walker-talkers," bicycles, skateboards, dogs, and screaming kids.

4. With bright sun and warm temperatures, there were even more non-birders out!
