I only had time for a short, late morning hike, and wanted to see if the Tennessee Warbler that I last saw on November 6 was still here. I didn't see it, but I saw a few other avian species.

It was bright and sunny, and 50 degrees. The sustained 10 mph winds weren't too bad, but the 20 to 30 mph wind gusts kept many of the smaller birds hunkered down. Once again, I looked unsucessfully for the Tennessee Warbler. More than half of the vegetation where it and a few other warblers have been foraging is now brown and in the dormant winter stage. I suspect that these warblers have moved south for the winter. I hiked for quite a while, but ended up with only 23 avian species.
